Work, driving trips, relaxing
Hello all, this is just a little update to say whats been happening of late. Hmmmm where do I start, had quite a busy weekend, on Saturday Andy and myself went on a trip with some of the youth from the church we attend to Byron Bay. It was really nice down there and i went body boarding for the first time since ive been over here, the waves were AWESOME!! like super compared to Woodend and Waikuku beaches.
We also had a bit of a look around at some of the local shops and things, and the we all went up to the lighthouse and enjoyed the great view of the surrounding area. Lots of laughs and it was good to get to know the people we were with a bit better. The pastor of the church, Tony Llewellyn (i think thats how you spell it) was our driver, so we had some good talks with him --> Him and his wife Allison have 2 children; David (18) who is studying music and the "conservatorium" which is the music branch of the university here. They also have a daugther Manda (21) who is currently workin in an aged care home.
Both Andy and I worked Monday for E.D.S. the display services place, we got paid but were informed that there would not be anymore work for at least 2 weeks which is a bit discouraging because we really need jobs right now :).
On Sunday we went back to church and met a few more people there, its not very big but there seems to be a good amount of people around our age... all we really need is our own transport and then it will all be easy and we wont have to rely on the generosity of others to take us place. Speaking of which, Andy is working on the car that we brought and hopefully it will be in a good roadworthy condition by the end of this week... hopefully.
We may end up going away on a camping trip with some of the guys from EDS where we worked, over easter but that is unconfirmed at the moment. So yeah i like it over here apart from the fact that jobs seem quite hard to come by because according to most people its the "quiet season" and its been pretty dry as well so most outdoor plant places are waiting on rain --> although business is booming for those trucking water to places around about that aren't fortunate enough to be connected to the main Brisbane water supply (like us) except that warren has a 1000l water container in his van which he fills up and pipes to his tanks once or twice a day :).
Anyways i think that this just about covers everything to date, I do miss New Zealand, but only when i think about it :).
